I have made multiple attempts at making a cheats active mode for both versions but they have bugs, it is best to avoid combat by hopping back and forth between the two versions. Version 1.8.4.1 (AKA experimental) is overall better but had buggy combat while version 1.8.4 (AKA start_being_just_a_chill_guy) has other issues. It is recommended to use Experimental.html for character creation.
Its unlikely a new proper cheats active version will be released until after version 1.8.4.2
