Rice Krispies Treats Is Releasing Its First-Ever Salty Snack

No matter your age, there’s never anything quite like a Rice Krispies Treat. The sweet, buttery marshmallow-filled cereal treat is an icon no matter if you buy it pre-packaged from the store or make it yourself at home.

Rice Krispies has pretty much gotten its sweet treat line down pat with its strawberry, chocolate, and most recently launched chocolate peanut butter varieties. The brand even has you covered if you want candy-coated Rice Krispies Treats, extra marshmallow-dotted treats, and ice cream sandwiches. However, despite its line of topped snacks, if you’ve ever wanted a Rice Krispies Treat that’s both sweet and savory, you’ve always had to make it yourself. Or, at least, you did before now. 

Kellanova is rolling out a new, first-of-its-kind Rice Krispies Treat line that includes its first-ever savory-leaning snack. The brand is releasing new Rice Krispies Treat Bliss bars. 

Kellanova Launches New Rice Krispies Treats Bliss

The new sweet-and-salty treat adds multiple toppings to the classic Rice Krispies Treat for the first time. Rice Krispies Treats Bliss will be available in two flavors: Chocolate Sea Salt Pretzel and Caramel Sea Salt Pretzel. Both varieties add salty pretzel pieces and sea salt to the classic marshmallow-cereal treat, but with your choice of sweet flavor—either chocolate chunks or caramel chips.

Additionally, the new Rice Krispies Treats Bliss bars will feature a layer of either decadent chocolate or salty, sweet caramel at the bottom of the treat—much like the chocolate-peanut butter flavor.

Rice Krispies says it introduced the new line as attainable luxury continues to be a trend for home cooks. Whether that’s the high-low pairing of caviar and Pringles, or the new elevated Rice Krispies Treats, Kellanova customers can bring the luxury home in their own way. 

The new Rice Krispies Treats Bliss bars will be available in six-count boxes at retailers nationwide. Kellanova says the treat will begin hitting shelves this April.
